The VacAll History
VacAll Industries, Inc., is a manufacturer of specialized vacuum truck sewer machines with a tradition for quality products that can be traced back to 1954.
Formerly owned by Clean Earth Environmental Group, LLC and Clean Earth Kentucky, LLC, the business entity was collectively referred to as Clean Earth when it was acquired in May 2006 by the Alamo Group of Seguin, Texas.
Alamo subsequently established the new VacAll Industries, Inc., corporate identity as part of a reorganization that streamlined production, product development, product support, sales and marketing processes.
Sales, service and parts ordering functions remain in Alabama while manufacturing, engineering and parts order fulfillment were relocated to another Alamo-owned company, Gradall Industries, Inc., in New Philadelphia, Ohio. The move allowed VacAll Industries, Inc. to benefit from Gradall’s high-quality production capacity and strategic location.
The S.H.A.R.C. street sweeper business, also a part of the Clean Earth acquisition, was consolidated with Alamo’s Schwarze street sweeper operation in Huntsville, Alabama.
At the time of the Clean Earth acquisition, Ron Robinson, Alamo Group's President and CEO commented, "Vacuum trucks are a product line that we have wanted to add to our Industrial Division for some time. They are a good fit with our existing product offering, which already includes mowing equipment, street sweepers and excavators, all of which are primarily sold to governmental entities and related contractors. The addition of these product lines should further strengthen our ties to dealers and customers in this segment."
Alamo Group is a leader in the design, manufacture, distribution and service of high-quality equipment for right-of-way maintenance and agriculture. Alamo Group companies have products that include tractor- and truck-mounted mowing and other vegetation maintenance equipment, excavators, street sweepers, snow blowers, pothole patchers, agricultural implements and related aftermarket parts and services. Alamo has over 2,290 employees and operates 14 plants in North America, Europe and Australia.
Over its history, the products in the VacAll Industries, Inc line have come to be recognized as valued-added machines, highly customizable and focusing on niche markets across North America and globally.
Clean Earth was formed in 1991 to respond to the ever-growing need within the environment services industry to provide specialized containers designed to handle waste handling and production needs. The original company developed a line of sewer cleaning equipment, straight jetting trucks, hydro-excavators and industrial vacuum loaders.
In October 2000, Jim Thompson, bought the company, with the intent of expanding Clean Earth’s product lines into complementary business lines. In February 2001, Clean Earth purchased the VacAll Division of Leach Co., adding a line of catch basin cleaners and street sweepers to the product line, which later was expanded to include S.H.A.R.C. street sweepers. In August 2003, Clean Earth purchased the E-Z Pack division of McClain Industries, adding a line of refuse trucks.
The company’s custom made trucks and technological innovations have allowed it to spread its scope across North America, as well as penetrate markets in many countries all across the globe.
